The Santa Barbara Channels once again recorded a great MIT Enterprise Forum, this one on “Technology Transfer: Turning Swords into Plowshares,” which is currently airing on Channel 21.
For decades, technology developed in university labs has moved into the economy where it has increased productivity and spawned new industries. This “Innovation Engine” is the envy of the world. Yet its operation can be daunting for startups, cumbersome for established companies, and sub-optimal in rewarding universities for their vital contributions to our economic strength. This program explores how our university technology transfer mechanisms can be improved to help maintain our position as the world’s most innovative economy.
